GAT Makes Hearts Swoon with New Single “Mine”

P-pop boy group GAT is claiming a new, romantic pop era with their latest single, Mine. The track, their second release this year, aims to court more listeners to tune into their expanding discography.

Produced by Filipino hitmaker Thyro Alfaro, Mine revolves around one’s yearning to call their muse or other half “mine” — with lyrics featuring different Filipino and English terms of endearment, such as “irog,” “sinta,” “giliw,” “baby,” “sweet,” “honey,” and “love,” and even Visayan words like “palangga” and “hinigugma.” Beyond these names, the song explores the promise of becoming a better person for a future partner.

The latest single, which was dropped with an official lyric video and visualizer, hopes to position the five-member act—composed of Ethan, Charles, Derrick, Michael, and Hans—as more mature, distinguished gentlemen “who wear their hearts on their sleeves.”

Mine follows GAT’s previous single, Kapag Ngumingiti Ka, released in April this year. They first entered the charts with their pre-debut cover of Daleng-Dale, followed by Kembot — both of which were used in the soundtrack for the series Ang Mutya Ng Section E.

Through a more sophisticated and heartfelt concept, GAT is slowly but surely setting a promising tone for their place in the growing P-pop scene. Charming their way into this new era, the group is bound to capture both the charts and the hearts of fans with their music.
