Are the Signals Hitting? Ranking Every Track From BINI’s Latest EP 

Since boldly declaring, “World, get ready for BINI,” five years ago, the eight-member act has grown into an ensemble worthy of the title Nation’s Girl Group, pushing boundaries and cementing their presence on the global stage. 

BINI’s groundbreaking debut at Coachella in April was a milestone that catapulted them further onto international stardom. Since then, the momentum hasn’t stopped. They soon locked in a two-day run at the much-anticipated Summer Sonic Festival in Japan; secured an original soundtrack for DreamWorks’ upcoming animated feature film, Forgotten Island; and launched a massive global tour that sold out in its opening weekend. On top of these, they have officially been named the Philippines’ tourism ambassadors, together with another homegrown P-pop act that has yet to be revealed.

The Nation’s Girl Group, with an ever-growing list of milestones under their belt, is now bound to transmit Signals to audiences across the world. 

As BINI marks their next chapter in global domination, PARCINQ ranks their latest EP’s tracks from bottom to top, diving into what these songs signal for the P-pop landscape and the future of Filipino music.

6. Honey Honey

Dropped as a surprise alongside Unang Kilig, BINI’s Honey Honey is a soft, minimalist bubblegum pop track. 

But the fact that it deviates from their signature upbeat sound acts as a double-edged sword. While it can easily delight listeners with its refreshing and laid-back groove, Honey Honey may feel underwhelming for those who, in the first place, got hooked on BINI for their high-energy bops. This is especially true for many listeners, myself included, who held high expectations, as it was one of their first releases since Flames in 2025 — which did not resonate as strongly as their other albums and EPs.

Still, I have to give it to BINI for releasing the track as a double drop with a more classic-sounding Unang Kilig, accompanied by a cute visualizer featuring member Aiah’s dog, Honey. That, at least, is a sweet touch, on top of the lyrics that explore the beauty of quiet and subtle romantic moments.

5. Tic Tac Toe

Another chill yet danceable track from Signals is Tic Tac Toe. With fun, game-inspired lyrics like “X, X, O” and “K-I-S-S-I-N-G,” it effectively captures the thrill of the modern chase, while also tapping into nostalgia.

Compared to the other songs in the EP, Tic Tac Toe’s more unusual approach to pop makes it quite “skippable” or less appealing at times, especially if you prefer the fiercer or groovier sound.

4. Unang Kilig

With a vibrant retro bubblegum pop sound highlighting the group’s signature flair, Unang Kilig is the ultimate BINI anthem from Signals. It serves as a nostalgic treat for fans who have been longing for a comeback of their OG, feel-good P-pop hits like Lagi and Salamin, Salamin. Not to mention, Unang Kilig’s star-studded music video appears to be a love letter to Filipino cinema, with each member given a moment to shine.

Honestly, for me, this track would have been a no-brainer top one on local charts, but the placement feels just right if we’re talking global.

3. Step Back

From a lover girl anthem to a “baddie” song, this marks a Step Back from BINI’s other songs in the EP. With its in-your-face, edgy style and intense choreography, it features self-empowering lyrics about setting boundaries — exploring a side that the P-pop powerhouse hasn’t fully shown. It kind of reminds me of their Born to Win era, but this time, they are definitely more mature, confident, and fierce. 

Besides that, Step Back is reminiscent of the sassy “girl crush” concept often associated with K-pop, so I totally get why more fans are loving the bop that it is.

2. Blush

“Oh, kalami, oh, kalami,” every time this song plays. 

Blush is Signals’ title track for a reason. It’s bubbly; it’s catchy; it’s wildly energetic and undeniably relatable — it has everything you might be looking for in a BINI song. 

Dare I say, it’s a perfect follow-up to Pantropiko, delivering the same summery pop vibes. Except this time, Blush feels intentionally crafted for a global audience. Its whole production is world-class, infused with a Filipino touch that captures the specific, heart-racing feeling of having a “blush” moment.

1. Sugar Rush

And this is all about the exhilarating rush of secretly liking someone, but I bet you could feel that when you listen to this song, too.

At first, I didn’t get the hype over this track. But when I saw BINI performing it live for the first time at the kickoff of their Signals World Tour, I got to see Sugar Rush’s potential in a whole new light. From its memorable introduction to its powerful, rock-and-roll arrangement, coupled with dynamic choreography, it’s the kind of track that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the very first beat drop.

For some fans, Sugar Rush even screams “Grammy Awards.” I don’t know about you, but that speaks volumes about how promising the song is.

The rest of BINI’s Signals EP, while arguably not their best, is proof of how effortlessly versatile the group can be. From cute and dreamy to retro and girl crush concepts, they prove to be limitless while staying true to their Filipino roots. This alone serves as a strong, crystal-clear signal that the Nation’s Girl Group is expanding the horizons not just for P-pop, but for OPM as a whole.
