Dionela Ties the Knot on a “Monday Afternoon”
So, this is what forever sounds like.

Having a romantic partner who writes about you might already feel too much to ask, but imagine if you had one who would even turn your marriage vows into a song.
OPM singer-composer Dionela does exactly that as he makes a return with another hit in the making. Monday Afternoon is a deeply personal ballad that reflects his commitment to his wife, Meizy Mendoza, whom he tied the knot with in an intimate garden wedding in March. Dionela first performed the song as his marriage vow during the ceremony.
“The songs went quiet for a while, until love gave me a reason to write again,” he shared in a post.

Monday Afternoon not only offers an intimate glimpse into the singer-composer’s heart, but also showcases his growth as both an artist and a husband. Moving from themes of purpose and self-discovery, his body of work has evolved to tell more stories about love and devotion.
The OPM star’s newest track marks his comeback since Ikigai last year. He is currently headlining The Promise Tour: Not a Dionela Show, with initial stops across Asia.
It was the 2024 hit Sining, featuring Jay-R, that propelled him to mainstream fame, shortly followed by Marilag.
With the rising hitmaker’s latest transition in his artistry, the Promise may not just be the title of his tour or a nod to his wedding-vow-turned-song; it’s a pledge that there is so much more to watch out for in his career.
