ena mori Is Best Asian Creative Artist at Taiwan’s Golden Indie Music Awards
The half-Filipina singer-songwriter won the award for her latest EP, "Ore."

Filipino pride shines on the international stage again as another local artist earns an impressive new accolade.
ena mori took home one of the most notable titles at the recently concluded 17th Golden Indie Music Awards (GIMA). The singer-songwriter won the Best Asian Creative Artist award for her latest EP, Ore — cementing her status as an emerging creative force with Filipino roots in Asia’s independent music scene.
mori received the honor at the Taipei Music Center in Taiwan, where the latest edition of GIMA was held on October 31. She attended virtually, sharing her gratitude through a video message.

On Instagram, the Japanese-Filipino singer further expressed her appreciation for the award.
“I feel so proud and happy — and even more inspired to keep creating what I love,” she wrote.
In the post, mori also gave a shoutout to fellow Filipino rapper SHNTI, who was nominated in the same category for her own album, Melting PT.
mori, whose music blends classical piano with experimental pop, has been making waves across Asia in recent years. She earlier topped a major publication’s chart of best Asian albums of the year with her debut full-length record, DON’T BLAME THE WILD ONE! The half-Filipina artist has likewise performed on international stages, including two editions of South by Southwest (SXSW) in Texas and Sydney, as well as the 2026 Summer Sonic Festival in Japan.
Here’s to seeing more Filipino indie artists getting their well-deserved spotlights across the world.
