Learning is the best teacher— a truth that John Pengson (@Pengsyy), a KUMU content creator, lives by.
By day, he juggles his role as an Associate at Wipro Philippines and a professional teacher, but when the workday ends, Pengsyy (with the double “Y”) comes alive in his passions for volleyball, badminton, singing, and dancing. His fun-loving and outgoing nature draws him to new experiences and connections, always excited to see where the next journey will take him.
Pengsyy’s story took an unexpected turn during the pandemic, when he downloaded the blue app to support a friend competing in Mr. Kumunizen. Little did he know, this platform would transform his life. Drawn in by KUMU’s unique platform that showcases diverse talents, he entered the “Battle of Talents” competition—and to his amazement, he won the championship title.

Through KUMU, Pengsyy began creating engaging content, which not only helped him connect with viewers but also fostered lasting friendships. What started as a means of support grew into a close-knit community. These KUMU friends have become like family to him, and even as life returns to its busy rhythm, he remains in touch with them.
“To be honest, being featured in any advertisement, on digital platforms like this, is one of my dreams. I feel like I was able to make things possible even if it looked impossible,” he shared when asked about being featured in Parcinq.
As a teacher, Pengsyy is passionate about igniting a love for learning in his students. He believes that a supportive and inclusive classroom is key to fostering an environment where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. His secret? Making learning feel like an adventure!

He believes in creating lessons that aren’t just relevant but also relevant to life—like using stories, interactive activities, and real-world connections to spark curiosity and make learning come alive.
As a KUMU content creator, Pengsyy brings the same passion for engagement and authenticity that he does in the classroom. For him, success isn’t measured by the number of likes or viewers, but by the value and impact of the content he creates. It’s all about making every live stream meaningful, no matter how big or small the audience might be.

Through his content on KUMU, John proves that it’s not about the numbers because for him, it’s about staying true and making a difference with every stream.
This mindset not only helps him grow as a creator but also inspires his followers to embrace the idea that every effort counts—because sometimes, the smallest spark can light up the biggest opportunities.
