The PHx Fashion Group proudly unveils Codex of Design, a three-month retail showcase and residency by celebrated Filipino designer Renz Reyes at Comme Ci, Powerplant Mall, Makati City. This highlights the unique design codes that define Reyes’ creative vision as he begins an exciting new chapter as an independent designer in the ready-to-wear (RTW) market.
Renz Reyes has carved a niche in the fashion industry with his ability to blend artisanal craftsmanship with contemporary design. Recently awarded The Next Creative Visionary at the Mega Design Awards 2024, Reyes continues to solidify his position as one of the country’s most innovative fashion talents. A winner of the Bench Design Awards in 2018, he has also showcased his collections at Amazon Tokyo Fashion Week. Features on his work have appeared in the fashion publications WWD, Vogue, and Dazed. His expertise, honed as a former Senior Designer for luxury label Natori, lies in intricate embroidery and storytelling through design, techniques now recognized as his signatures.
In 2023, Reyes took part in the PHx Fashion Group’s retail pop-up, PHx Station, at Greenbelt Mall in Makati. Held in parallel with the 2023 PHx Fashion Conference, which Reyes also attended, PHx Station marked the designer’s initiation into the PHx Fashion community. His first practical experience in retail and ready-to-wear allowed him to engage directly with clients, demonstrating his ability to translate his artistry into designs for modern markets. Now, through Codex of Design, Reyes embarks on a transformative journey, exploring new dimensions of his craft in the RTW space.
Comme Ci, a leading multi-brand boutique in Powerplant Mall, is renowned for its support of both local and global talents. Hosting Codex of Design aligns with the boutique’s mission of curating collections that resonate with modern, fashion-forward audiences.
The Codex of Design retail collaboration with Comme Ci is made possible through the efforts of the PHx Fashion Group, founded in 2019 by Esme Palaganas, Joseph Bagasao, and Trickie Lopa. Through programs like the PHx Fashion Conference and PHx Station, the group provides emerging Filipino designers with platforms to propel their businesses to a global standard. The group enables a creative business environment through education and market incubation.
