#ParcinqFresh: New On The Line Featuring Aces and Queen

Writer's picture: Parcinq MagazineParcinq Magazine

In the past 25 years, Aces & Queens has produced several national and international winners including Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza, and the country's first Miss World, Megan Young. They have not slowed down since producing recent stars like Nicole Borromero, Pauline Amelinckx, Beatrice Luigi Gomez, and Tracy Maureen Perez.

Gerry Diaz, a former Senior Vice President of BDO Unibank, now leads the team. When asked about what makes their training different, he replied "Our training not only involves the traditional classes on Hair, Makeup, Pasarela, Fitness, and Question & Answer. To ensure that, they will be ready in all aspects, we also have training on Personality Development (How To Have A Winning Attitude), Social Media, Advocacy, Mental Health, Nutrition, and Media Interviews."

He also emphasized that they scout girls not just based on physical beauty. Weight is given to personality, charm, intelligence, communication, and good interpersonal relationship skills. This winning formula seems to work.  In 2024 all the girls they sent to international pageants all placed within the top 5 of their respective competitions.

To further enhance the quality of their training they now have a new headquarters, Olympus Creatives Studios in San Juan City. The spacious 3-story complex includes an office, dance studio, and photography studio and is available for rent for interested parties. New classes and mentors were added to help their trainees be more equipped to deal with the competitive nature of the current pageant atmosphere.

Looking into the future, Aces & Queens has also started to take their training to other places via their weekend boot camps wherein the mentors and instructors from the team travel to provinces and countries. Their objective is to help train girls who would normally have no access to this opportunity.  This also helps them scout at the grassroots level.

"We were able to do this, is by building strong connections with local beauty pageants. Our expert-led boot camps aim to elevate the pageant experience in communities across the country, creating new relationships with local handlers who discover emerging talent in their towns and provinces." Jim Ryan Ros,  A&Q’s Business Development Manager adds. "This expands our reach and helps us find the next generation of beauty queens from all corners of the Philippines. Recently, we’ve collaborated with prominent local pageants as well as those abroad, particularly in regions with strong Filipino communities.”

The mentors of A&Q, who are all professionals in their respective fields, all started as pageant fans with a common vision to help girls achieve their goals of becoming the next pageant superstars. In a country that excels in pageantry, the organization’s mission has been able to encourage national pride and unite Filipinos all over the world, even with one pageant at a time.
