Maxie and Angel are Soaring Higher Together Than They Ever Could Alone

Sometimes, real-life siblings can be like night and day. They may lead entirely different lifestyles, pursue distinct hobbies, and chase dreams that couldn’t be further apart. One might thrive in the spotlight, while the other finds peace in quiet moments. Their paths may cross frequently, yet each walks to the beat of their own drum.

But for the Drag Race Philippines Season 3 stars and siblings Maxie and Angel, they’re cut from the same fabulous cloth. Both share a passion for the art of drag, the stage lights, and the thrill of self-expression.

“Just keep on going.” With only a small age gap between them, this simple but powerful advice from Maxie is what Angel holds closest to her heart. It may seem like a brief, encouraging phrase, but when life felt like it was crumbling around her—during those darker days Angel remembers all too well—these words became her anchor. They helped her pick herself up and push forward, proving that sometimes, the most profound support comes in the form of the simplest reminders from those who know her best.

“Max is the best ‘kuya’ I’ve ever had,” she says warmly. “Growing up together with Maxie, iba yung impact sa’kin. Lagi niya akong pinagtatanggol at pinoprotektahan. Tinataboy niya ang mga tumatahol na aso para sa’kin,” she jokes, laughing at the memory. And while the image of Maxie fending off barking dogs might seem funny, it’s clear her care goes far beyond playful protection. After all, who needs a bodyguard when you have a queen sister who’ll chase away the neighborhood mutts just to make sure you’re safe?

As for the Season 3 winner Maxie, she describes Angel as her “best friend,” with Angel chiming in, “Best friends for life, forever, and nobody can take that away from us.” Being the older sister, Maxie’s instinct to protect Angel is second nature, a kind of selflessness that she jokes about, saying, “Honestly, I didn’t really have a choice kundi pakisamahan siya.”

But growing up with the same fierce passion, after all those rooftop concerts they held on their neighborhood’s “bubong,” being each other’s makeup artists and assistants, and the endless bickering as to who gets to be the “bida” on that day, Maxie realizes that her strength is drawn from her younger sibling. It’s Angel’s love that has shaped her into the person she is today—fearless, determined, and endlessly inspired by the bond they share.

And while they each have a different approach to life—with Angel being more honest, vocal, and straightforward—they balance each other perfectly. They’re like those best friends who are the yin to each other’s yang, the push to each other’s pull, and the spark that ignites each other’s passions. Angel’s honesty, in particular, resonates deeply with Maxie, who finds comfort in her sister’s openness.

“Sabihin mo, mas nakakabawas siya,” Maxie says with gratitude the piece of advice from Angel that struck a chord with her, acknowledging how Angel’s candor helps lighten her own load and keep her grounded.

Their sibling dynamic is a beautiful dance of personality traits and a healthy sibling rivalry; while Angel’s straightforwardness can cut through the noise and offer clarity, Maxie brings a flair for drama, genuine care, and creativity that adds excitement to their lives. Maxie often jokes that when they’re together, it’s like having a built-in therapist and cheerleader rolled into one.

Through thick and thin, they have each other’s backs—Maxie providing a safe space for Angel to express herself, while Angel challenges Maxie to step out of her comfort zone.

They bicker a lot, often finding themselves in small fights and misunderstandings, especially since they share the same industry. But to them, it’s all part of the normal sibling dynamic and never anything personal. They know that these squabbles are just minor bumps on their journey together, not roadblocks. Instead of tearing each other down, they lift each other up, always striving to be better together.

When one stumbles, the other is quick to help. Maxie and Angel flap their wings, soaring higher than they ever could alone.

Reading about success stories where people achieve goals together is inspiring! It reminded me how important it is in games to choose the right resources and equipment for the best results. If you're interested in gaming, I recommend the article on Starfield https://asamigames.com/get-to-know-about-starfield-weapon-tiers/, which details the different weapon levels. Knowing the characteristics of weapons helps you to complete missions and survive in difficult situations much more efficiently, just like supporting a strong partner in life!
