Celebrating Six Years of Kumu: Highlights from the Grand Anniversary Events

For Filipino-made live-streaming platform Kumu, this simple greeting represents its mission: creating a digital space where people worldwide can come together, find belonging, and freely express themselves. From the very first “Kumusta,” Kumu has spent the last six years bringing people closer—fans to idols, families across distances, and strangers from all walks of life.

As part of the Gen 6 festivities, Kumu has lined up a series of special events to honor and engage its community. From the passionate streamers and dedicated viewers to the hardworking Kumu Krew behind the scenes, this celebration highlights the unity that makes Kumu a true family.

One of them is the Kumu Gen 6 Billboard, a tribute that showcases the evolution of Kumu and its most iconic streamers. This visual display highlights how far the platform has come and the talents that have flourished within it, many of whom were previously featured on the covers of Parcinq.

In addition, the Kumu ANIMversary Anthem has been unveiled, a celebratory song that marks Kumu’s six-year journey. This anthem encapsulates the spirit of the platform and its community, bringing everyone together through music that resonates with Kumu’s mission of unity and creative expression.

Kumu kicked off the month-long celebration with the Offline Soiree, an in-person event where the Kumu Krew and streamers can connect, share stories, and celebrate the milestones they’ve achieved together. This face-to-face gathering underscores the platform’s commitment to fostering real-world relationships alongside its digital connections.

Meanwhile, the Kumu Catalog highlights the platform’s most beloved streamers, giving the community a chance to recognize the talents and personalities that have shaped Kumu’s identity. 

One of the most anticipated events was the Stream-a-thon, a full day of non-stop programming on August 25, featuring a variety of events that reflect the fun and dynamic nature of Kumu. The Kumuoke contest spotlights five talented singers from the platform, while the Kumukada Feud pits two Kumu agencies against each other in a series of playful challenges.

Another exciting event, the Kumukbang Challenge, features volleyball stars Jema Galanza and Ponggay Gaston, with proceeds benefiting a charity chosen by Jema. Wrapping up the day was the Kumu Livestream Awards, where top streamers were honored for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the platform.

Together with their streamers, Kumu threw the Gen 6 anniversary bash at 12 Monkeys, Estancia.

Kumu has also introduced a new video series titled Kwentong Kumu, which showcases inspiring success stories from both streamers and members of the Kumu Krew.
